Description: A 3rd Photo Group F-5A Lightning comes in to land in Italy, 1944. The synthetic haze blue paint was designed to make the recce aircraft basically invisible until very close range. The color blended in quite well at high altitude. On solo flights, without armament, it was important that they avoid enemy fighters. Landing in Italy, 44.
