Name: You're Safe at Home!
Description: 'You're safe at home!' was a B-24H of the 445th BG 703rd BS based Tibenham. Her name most likely derived from an earlier incident where this aircraft had to be lifted back on its legs after an hydrolic failure had forced her to her belly on landing!? The art work has a hand missing from a panel having been replaced from the accident.

The "description" above is incorrect in one respect. The panel being described as "been replaced" is not correct! What has actually occurred is a modification (likely local) that added an additional armor plate outside of the cockpit of many B-24s, one on each side, to further protect the pilot and co-pilot. This mod frequently covered previously applied "nose art" as in this case!
